Gary Peacock features on bass, and on a couple of songs he is overdubbed, for twice the bass. Jan Garbarek helps out on another pair of tunes, including standout "December Greenwings", while the highlight of the album, "Flower Crystals", features an uncredited keyboardist. Another fine pressing from ECM via Wakefield, with loads of depth to the low end and a shimmering quality to the crystalline soundstage. I have an old radio station copy from WSGE, the cover isn't in great shape, but the vinyl is beautiful, dead silent, with zero surface noise.referencing December Poems (LP, Album) ECM-1-1119
I know what you think, a solo bass album must be tedious. This one isn’t. It’s varied and has some other elements to it, some saxophone from Jan Garbarek. The sound quality is top notch.
