Second version of this epic must own set has remastered audio that improves the detail but clips the low end, so you lose the resonance and gain some sparkle. Both sets are worthy and ultimately sound great, and yes, the channels are reversed compared to the albums proper.- Epic compilation a must own for Marley aficionados and the casual fan alike. Sweeping overview is fully loaded with all sorts of delicious treasures. This first edition has excellent sound which represents the music well, except that the channels are reversed.
Edited one year agoStrange Release after all…some of these pressings are top notch. Heavy, clean, straight…clear as can be with zero surface noise…one of the records is warped…clean sound though. Another is straight with surface noise. Most of the lps have richt, clean, and amazing sound…not all of them though. It pisses me off that yet another record is sold warped. Sucks…
Bonus, inner sleeves are top notch, booklet is of great quality, all three gatefolds are heavy duty and clear pictures…
In Amazon someone claims the bass swallows all other instruments…the sound is full of body…bass sounds amazing and all other instruments are clear…not sure what system that dude used.
Debating it it goes back…the record is now sitting wih a heavy thick Dali book and a 20kg weight to get it straightened..- There is also a limited edition with the same catalogue number, released 12.03.2021, with 170 - 185 gr. black vinyl.
It appears the colored discs version is pressed at Optimal. I'm wondering if anyone knows where this is pressed?- While I agree with the disappointment of this not including the best material from the original set I’m still glad I picked it up as a companion to the CD set. The vinyl was pretty damn pristine on my set which is a rarity these days. Sound quality is very solid although definitely not going to match the original pressings. Still nice to have some of these songs on vinyl for the first time. A nice addition to my collection.
- My copy has side 1 and side 2 mislabeled. I don't think I'll send it back for a replacement.
Anyone know why the first disc from the original release is not included in this vinyl reissue?- i'm sorry but you can get this on bob marleys site for $150 and you can probably get a little 10% off coupon and free shipping or something on top of that. Why any of you guys think you can get anywhere near your current listing prices is beyond me...
