Aja (pronounced like "Asia") is the sixth studio album by Steely Dan. Released in 1977, the album peaked at number 3 on the US charts and at number 5 in the UK. It was the band's first platinum album and became their best-selling studio release, eventually selling over five million copies. The album includes the hit songs Deacon Blues, Peg and Josie. In 2010 the Library of Congress selected Aja for inclusion in the United States National Recording Registry based on its cultural, artistic or historical significance.

- People wax lyrical about the newer AP SACD and its certainly impressively clean but theres a punch and dynamism to this one that is almost preferable. They are pretty close overall its a pick your flavour to suit job. Obviously, an upside to the AP is the hybrid redbook layer.
The hype is real on the AB-1006 pressing. I’ve heard many pressings and masterings of this, one of my all-time favorite albums. None of them sound like this. It is punchy and alive in a way I’ve never heard before. If you can find a nice copy for the right price, grab it.- My copy has AA-1006 in the runout on one side, and AAB-1006 (B scratched out) on the other. Is this an AB first press?

It‘s a satisfying crisp pressing, but not as warm sounding as the earlier german ABC pressing.- I've only been into vinyl for about 8 months and I'm wondering if I will really notice a difference on this and any UHQR vs the clean originals I have on the introductory setup I have or if I should wait until future upgrades.

It’s been a while since I heard this copy,I have many others,and I’m enjoying it very much, for me it’s a very good edition, It doesn’t lack anything.I think it depends a lot on the system you listen to it on, in my case, Kuzma+Hana Umami Blue+Mcintosh,it’s not UHQR but it’s not far off.

If anyone has an absolutely trashed disc/missing disc but the original cover i'd be interested! I bought this but I have the disc and not the sleeve haha. Some normal US sleeve.- Out of the 5 Steely Dan UHQRS thus far released this one sounds the most detailed all be it at the expense of being a little too bright on some of the vocals. I find it more enjoyable listening through headphones over speakers.
MAC records 250-449 is not a CD. It's vinyl and it's German. I have it in my hands right now. 250-449-1 and MCA 37214.
