I bought my sealed copy but it skips on track 1 )maybe dust or something else) ...often I have this problem with new vinyls ...
On the front cover there is a sticker with written “new album” in red (see on Discogs for details ) but the vinyl is black and not red ...

My copy (clear vinyl) sounds great, maybe if you can you should wash the record before playing it, even if new most of the time there's some dust and manufacturing small pieces that can make their way inside the inner sleeve, washing it works magic!
The front cover though is almost worse than "California Son", horrific!!

Nice clean pressing but horrible low resolution compressed mastering. Anyone who thinks this is a good sounding record needs an education what music should sound like.

This is way up there with his best work! The songwriting and the quality of the vocal is simply amazing. I love the band, the production, the arrangements...its a BANGER!!! Top marks and would serve as a great introduction to a younger newcomer. Its BRILLIANT!

Since "Years of Refusal", Morrissey records have suffered a twin sickness: sloth and - to quote the man himself - 'guilt by association.' With each new callous remark in the press chipping further away at the patience of his listeners, so the kingpin of misinformed alt-rock toxicity continues to soundtrack his downfall with increasingly weaker offerings. Even swathes of his own rightfully bashful fanbase can't help but wince at the announcement of new material - and who can blame them, with the proffering of such shallow lyrics ('did you see the poor rich / hunting down - shooting down - elephants and lions?').

To the already unappetising mix, Morrissey's tenth adds a spattering of other poisons: distention ("The Sound of Music", running 7:52 and composed largely of teeth-grinding, doldrum-like thudding); cumbersome, rhythmless delivery of lurid sexual propositions ('why can't you give me some physical love? / everything else is in place, except physical love'); and perhaps worst of all, lazy, predictable rhyme (see: "The Truth about Ruth", which opens - unpromisingly - with the line: 'I am a sleuth...') Despite some instrumental forays into the experimental (particularly regarding electronics - oft shunned by the Morrissey canon), the production is also quite flat and empty. Gone is the natural maelstrom of the Alain Whyte-featuring Morrissey backing band; instead, this is just another record that sees limited exhibitionist Jesse Tobias and the shrill MIDI voices of Gustavo Manzur at full-tilt, chugging in self-congratulatory circles.

From its over-defensive, ham-fisted title, to the deceitful, superficial 'resignation' of its closing track, "I Am Not a Dog on a Chain" is a churned wasteland of bad songs and jokes that can't land, starkly populated by flashes of brilliance, and consequently beheld by ears that yearn for a wit long-deceased. Notable chinks of light would be the puckish wordplay opening the rollicking "Jim Jim Falls" and the rare nostalgia of "Once I Saw the River Clean", and its sweet description of boyhood Steven, accompanying his grandmother to town, and 'demanding' a copy of "Metal Guru" in exchange for his 45p pocket money. Elsewhere, Morrissey motions at redemption with the soulful, pumping "Bobby, Don't You Think They Know?", which provides this record's obligatory 'unusual-name-placed-prominently-within-a-song-title'; "Knockabout World" also has - for all its lyrical glibness - a pretty tune at its heart.

Pressing with surface noise between tracks and in quite places in the songs. I like the album but I missed the good sounding record. Instruments do not shine and sounds flat but still a good record.

I am confused; is this release clear or clear red? I don't see a crystal clear version listed any where.
