Aside from the legendary La Luna (Full Mix), there really isn't anything else on offer on this release (for a dancefloor).

The Hanson & Nelson / Mira remixes make decent enough efforts at Progressive House / Trance but fade totally in comparison to the chunky party-time vibe of Patrick Prins' Full Mix.

Prins' own track Darkness is decent enough too, kind of prototype Hard House with a bouncy bassline and driving hi-hats. It just doesn't go anywhere.

Notice at the start I said there was nothing on offer apart from the Full Mix for a dancefloor. Well, that's where Enter The Light, er, enters...

Amazingly, this is a 5-and-a-half-minute journey deep into ambient bliss. For it to come from a producer who consistently delivered massive, peak time party house anthems just beggars belief.

My respect for Patrick Prins really went up a notch upon hearing Enter The Light. Of course I fully respected him before, but to show this amount of depth and musical appreciation is truly something special for your average dance producer.

The track itself, well, it's ambient as I said. But it's not just five minutes of quiet. Oh no. Prins utilises the most heart-breakingly beautiful pads over delicate, restrained piano to present a feeling of not just well-being (although there ARE some whale noises admittedly) but also a feeling of curious déjà vu. The kind of feeling that takes your mind on a little trip inside.

This from the man who brought you Artemesia - Bits + Pieces.
