- Edited one year agoBoy, does this sucker clear the head. Throw Chrome, Hawkwind, Acid Mothers Temple, and any obscure motorik muzik into a blender, and you'll get some feel for F/i's brand of interstellar rock genius. Richard Franecki was/is a monster, a finer-than-fine multi-instrumentalist who carried the torch for US space rock when most dudes were content to simply achieve Nirvana through grudge. Well, yecch to them. Franecki & his cohorts were the real deal. F/i's catalog is an extensive one, and I'd suggest dipping in whenever & wherever you can, but starting herewith works just fine. Long, spun-out guitar crunch rippling out into the cosmos meets full-on rhythmic energy and a massive payload of 'tronics that rockets the whole thing beyond the moon. Tracks don't really begin & end so much as blast out of some primordial vacuum, evolve, churn, and burn, crystallizing spectacularly. Dense, deep, dark, and dangerous. Oh, and freakin' great.
