referencing Blasterhead Works 1995-2003 (CD, Album) BHCD02
In 2003, Blasterhead released his first album titled "Blasterhead Works 1995-2003" under his own label, giving us a window into his past creativity, which, quite frankly, wasn't a lot. Seeing as how some of the tracks were eight years old at the time of release, the fact that many of the tracks are amateurish, have an incomplete feel, and are of poor audio quality isn't shocking.
Most of the songs themselves have loads of build-up but very little payoff. and have very poor audio quality, so it is obvious that most of the songs are from the mid-1990s, while relatively few of the works are from the turn of the millennium. They are also very monotonous and made from basic loops and samples, and a song or two feels out of tempo on some parts, and due to the usage of the same samples and bass beats in multiple tracks, songs tend to sound similar, and it doesn't help that a lot of them have similar BPM ranges.
Overall, the album is generic and dull. Those who became fans of Blasterhead after listening to his more recent works will be disappointed with the album. It's more of a collectors item than anything else. Unless you're a die-hard Blasterhead fan and collector, take a pass and listen to his more recent works. The only novelty that Blasterhead Works 1995-2003 has is seeing how much he has improved in the last 15 years.
