Heard of this late in life. Glad I did and found a pristine copy. Side B is OK but side a is amazing. The use of the organ on Hard, Hard Time and the guitars on Edge Of Time as well as the vocals on several tracks, even when mixed male and femalereferencing The Growing Concern (LP, Promo, Mono) 56108
beautiful mix. definitely sounds like a dedicated mono mix. vocals are very very strong with nice centered instrumentals as well. one of my favorite albums!- Edited 3 years ago

One of the Best and most expensive psych lps on the Mainstream label. Late 60's psych pop west coast vibe with male and female harmonies and organ and fuzz guitar. Very consistent and always fun on repeat listens! Compare to The Art of Lovin, Ill Wind, Yankee Dollar, Sapphire Thinkers, Jefferson Airplane and Peanut Butter Conspiracy. referencing The Growing Concern (LP, Album, Stereo) S/6108
Seems like a really good record but they should have used the female vocalist for most of the singing because her voice is mysterious and cool and the guy sounds a little cornball. Still worth having but awful expensive.- This entry shall refer to an early 90s needle drop bootleg reissue made in Austria or Hungary. The cover image is reproduced incomplete. There is no lettering on the spine.
The original Mainstream labels have not been reproduced.

This album has a few interesting moments but is not fantastic. The male lead singer is allowed too many vocals and in comparison to the female singer, sounds too corny. The covers are hit or miss. Don't listen to the "Jefferson Airplane" comparisons other reviewers and dealers claim this album contains. This album has almost a pure "Mammas & Papas" vibe with a tiny bit of "Jefferson Airplane" added to the sound but with not enough female vocals. This is yet another example of how rare does not necessarily mean awesome. referencing The Growing Concern (LP, Album, Stereo) S/6108
Definitly one of my favorite US-psychedelic albums, beneath such as Ill Wind or Gale Garnet and the Gentle Rain. Listen to, and you will anderstand. There also exist an European Counterfeit, that´s release dates to the middle of the 80ies. As an exeption, this is done quite proper and sounds as good, my original Mainstream-copy does. So both may be an recommendation, while i never listen to the cds. Maybe anybody can give us an advice to them?
