- Edited 8 months agoIf you like an orchestral touch to your seventies space disco then this is the album for you. If like myself, you prefer a more electronic take then the LP is still worth getting for the Beyond Orion track which is pure Moroder/Cowley inspired gold.
Speaking of gold, if you can find the Canadian release you get yellow/gold vinyl and a gold flying saucer shaped foil badge in the top left corner of the cover with an individual number on it (mine is 00644 so that suggests a run of at least 20,000 (the comment below mentions a number so it's at least 18000 plus which does make you question the true meaning of the words 'limited gold edition' inscribed below the number).
The other thing is the classic 70s sci-fi album cover artwork, from the groovy font to the space city and astronaut back to the beautiful space lady (who other commentators have noticed, looks uncannily like the actress Karen Black), it's wall to wall camp space opera delight.
Though space disco in the seventies was pretty much a global affair, Canada for some reason has more than it's fair share of space/alien/saucer/sci-fi themed albums and singles. While I'd argue this isn't the greatest Canadian/French Canadian space disco music ever released, it is one of the most important for it's sheer presence and how it helped to codify both its sound and its aesthetics. referencing Disco From Another Galaxy (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Gold Translucent) APL1-2853
If you're not familiar with this Space Project imo this is best way to describe it ; Salsoul orchestra take a trip to another galaxy and expand their modular sequencer synth to entertain the alien out there within their shiny galactic dance floor.
Pristine press in limited gold edition .
Disco beyond the Orion !referencing Disco From Another Galaxy (LP, Album, Limited Edition, Numbered, Gold Translucent) APL1-2853
This is a dope space disco LP with classy orchestration
