I have a copy with Columbia in the black box on the label. At the bottom of the label is EMI in a black box. There is no "Made in Britian". I can't find this variation. Help

For some reason, they're not using the Marquee version of Smokestack Lightning. It's the 1963 Craw Daddy version. And the edit into it is awful. Returning this LP to the store asap.

George Martin initially wanted to record a live album at the Cavern Club to issue as the Beatles' debut album. He recognized the acoustics were less than ideal and made one of the greatest studio debut albums of all time. This is a very good live album in terms of energy, but being recorded in 1964 with substandard equipment at the Marquee Club it's not the greatest listen.
A vinyl reissue with more unearthed live recordings from the era, namely Honey In Your Hips, You Can't Judge A Book By Looking At The At The Cover, Let It Rock, I Wish You Would, and Who Do You Love will hopefully be made one day. There's also a version of Smokestack Lightning included on Having A Rave Up that was played after Got Love If You Want It they could include.- I am looking for a copy of this one... please get in touch if you have one on sale or you know where I can get one! :-)
- what does it mean when an lp is blocked from sale
Edited 3 years agoNot the best live recording but still enjoyable. No surface noise although very muddy.- Strangely There is a volume problem with Schoolgirls track which has an increase of volume before the second verse. Also last track Respectable of Side 1 has a volume problem wich cause break/inteference in the sound output such has a dirty tape. The problem disapear after half of the song with a high increase. Does someonehas the same problem with others pressing?
