Not really a surprise since this came out in 1967, but the mono mix of this album is 100% dedicated, and oh what a glorious mix it is! The tracks that stand out the most with mixing differences are the following:

      - "All Strung Out Over You"
      - "I Can't Stand It"
      - "Uptown"

All 3 of these tracks were originally released as A-sides on 45 and share the same mixes here. Their mono mixes all feature additional overdubs that were omitted from the stereo versions; with extra handclaps on "All Strung Out", crowd overdubs on "Uptown", and a mix of both on "I Can't Stand It" (which also features an extra count-in not on the stereo mix)! Check out the videos on the side in the Discogs entries linked to see how the singles sound like.

Surprisingly the title track ("Time Has Come Today") doesn't really have much differences between mono/stereo, but that's probably due to the nature of its recording (it was produced, effects and all, in one continuous take!).

EDIT: Updated to mention the extra count-in on "I Can't Stand It".

Although there is nothing indicating this version was remastered in the booklet or on the tray, the image provided here shows the the disc with a yellow sticker clearly stating "Digitally Remastered". A strong hint as to the truth of this is nether fact that this reissue was produced for CD by Bob Irwin and "mastered" by Vic Anesini - these two gentlemen practically wrote the book on high quality remastering. For some reason the company (Columbia) omitted to say "remastered". The status on Discogs should be changed by a qualified member. (NOTE: I would do the edit myself, but I appear to have received a life sentence from doing so, due to the fact I need "education" on how to do these entries.)

This album is so overlooked and forgotten today. It sounds as fresh as when first released. A masterpiece!

Wonderful pressing flat n quiet, almost a guarantee with Record Industry. Great sound too great bass depth and presence just right, no nasties in any area of the recording. Yeah so its cut from digi but it sounds like its from a good source all the same and finding out all the Mofi suckers who slam MOV for this reason have been cluelessly buying digi cut records for yrs just makes this even more reaffirming.... its ALL in the mastering

I lived it...Had this Columbia LP on my Garrad turntable and watched as it flopped down on the table and starting spinning...My apartment was ablaze in black-light and the strobe was a strobin'...it was without a doubt one of the top outings of that miraculous year, 1967...The Chambers Bros. funk was infectious and earth shattering...We all know about THE cut on the album..."Time Has Come", penned by Joe and Willie Chambers, seems to never end as it takes you up, down, and up again for the thundering finish...Sadly the chaps didn't score any bread for this audio jewel as their recording rights were passed on to others who profit on this CLASSIC for ever and ever...BUT we have it...have it blasting right now on my TT...The 60's...I'll take it again ONLY if you throw in this Chamber Bros. gift of musical heaven on wax...

I just got finished listening to this 7.5 ips reel to reel tape. I have always loved the song "Time Has Come", so I sought it out and bought the tape. The bass is thin as hell on this tape. But it sounded good otherwise. I was listening with one of my many 2-channel set-ups, which I am into these days, consisting of a Marantz 4300 receiver, JBL 112 speakers and ADS L710 speakers, Pioneer RT-707 and Pioneer RG-2 expander. Despite the lack of bass, I did enjoy several songs on this tape, but "Time Has Come Today" was the highlight for me. Great separation and high end, just wish it had more low end.

Soulful & invigorating music that speaks to the adventurous nature of the moment - psychedelic soul or soulful psychedelia? Powerful & impressive LP.
