Information Society – Hack

Excelente álbum do Information Society. Hack traz diversas faixas com estilos variados. Emplacou vários sucessos como Think, How Long, Come With Me e Slipping Away.

É um álbum ótimo para se escutar sem se preocupar em pular faixa. Considero bem mais complexo que o primeiro álbum. Não consigo comparar qual seria melhor pois ambos marcaram época.

Possui diversos samples no processo de composição dos arranjos. Por exemplo:

Buyers beware! While it is cool that this release comes with different artwork on the CD compared to all the other releases (Specifically a very close close-up of Kurt's custom car at the time), the CD will suffer from disc rot overtime. As I stated in the replies in the comment below me:

"My disc is bending in a 'concave' sort of shape (From the disc rot). So I can't put it in a computer or else it might damage either the CD or the PC tray. When it gets to the track 'Slipping Away', it stops completely. :("

I recommend only buying this release if you are a hardcore Insoc fan / collector who wants the release just for its unique CD artwork.

On Charlie X, the line "I could make you all go away, any time I want to." is a reference to the Star Trek episode of the same name.

"Fire Tonight" is the most nauseating song ever made; even if it were two minutes it would be too long. That, and the pointless instrumental interludes drag the album down terribly.

As with many discs made by Discovery Systems, my copy of this CD is now suffering from a form of "disc rot", despite having no obvious visible flaws. In a regular CD player, the last few tracks won't play. In a computer's CD drive, almost the entire disc is unreadable.

This is a great CD, but it is way over 74 minutes (one of the first releases I am aware of that pushed the 74-minute barrier), and thus, it fails to play all the way to the end on most older models of CD players. I actually had to extract the tracks and re-burn the album to a CDR in order to get it to play!
