I hope they reissue his first album Deserted Palace on vinyl soon too.

Stupendously good pressing....and sounds better with every listen! An album that grows on you. Outstanding sound quality. Poly lined sleeve and separate card inner sleeve with pic/info. Obi strip completes an excellent package for a fair price.Buy with confidence.

Nice remastered. Nice dynamic and low noice. My version on side A not centered by 1 mm. But side B was spot on.
Anyone has the story about "Happiness Is A Sad Song (G.R.M. Bonus)"?

Very nice soundtrack !!! Unusual tunes .....experimental, concrete, suspence !!! Highly recommended for the soundtrack lovers !!

This was the Electronic music soundtrack of the film from 1973 "Les Granges Brûlées". The first track "Le Chanson Des Granges Brûlées", is smooth and fits with the "suspense" climax of the film. The second instrumental "Le Pays De Rose", includes many special effects and synthesizers (this is an example of a fantastic Electronic music soundtrack). "L'Helicoptère" is a relaxing tune, with soft special effects and melody. The track "Une Morte Dans La Neige" is similar to Musique Concrète (the beginning reminds me of Jarre's composition from 1968 "Happiness Is A Sad Song") and many interresting instruments and sounds can be heard. The first recordings of the album were smooth and relaxing, but "Zig Zag" is a cheerful, Disco and Synthpop melody. "Zig Zag Dance" was first released as an instrumental on the soundtrack of this album (later, Jarre and Samuel Hobo would record a new version).

The other tracks are soft: A fantastic organ sound can be heard at "Le Car/ Le Chasse-Neige".

I recommend this LP for collectors.

After the bomb of Deserted Palace, I'm somewhat amazed that Jarre got the chance to make music for the movie of the same name.
Les Granges Brulees is a rare case in which the music sound very primative, very rough (lot's of SAW's and Noises) but the melodie's are great. The theme song is great, and makes it's way into many other pieces with a twist which is great. It's a tough call to actually rate this album as it has many very good things about it, but at the same time many horrible once...

I'll let it slide with 3 out of 5...
