Kenny Burrell – Midnight Blue

I have this one and the QRP pressed 45; before paying for a MM or an AP version, listen to this one please - you really don’t need anything else! My most humble opinion 😊

This one plays like a tone poet. Excellent soundstage, dead quiet, completely flat. Very happy with picking this up for less than $20

Took a punt again after sending back 3 copies on release owing to sub-par pressing and was rewarded this time with a superb copy, absolutely flawless. There is therefore reason to believe that they have addressed the issue and repressed it -but this time with more than adequate quality control.

These Blue Note record releases are absolutely fantastic, especially considering how affordable they are. I would qualify these as audiophile. I sprung for a UHQR release of Kind of Blue and this Blue Note
record is right up there in sound quality for a small portion of the price

Interesting pre-echo (tape-through) on KB’s guitar riffs throughout “Mule” which to some would be annoying, but to me, with the blues-jazz genre, provides an almost call and response effect with a ghost musician.

It's the reason why I sold that crappy copy of 75th anniversary issue. I am dang happy with my ORG. copy. This is it!

Absolutely outstanding. Great music, fantastic pressing, excellent recording. Best of the series I have heard so far. A total bargain at this price.

Excepto por la pista 2 del lado b que tiene un par de pops, mi copia está muy bien con un sonido excelente. Tal vez con una buena limpieza pueda eliminar los pops y de la música en mi opinión es un grandioso disco.

So why does this CD reissue list the album as being recorded in 1967, when apparently it was first released in 1963 ??
