The Dutch label Excelsior Recordings was once purveyor of Dutch indie pop (Johan, Caesar) but seems to be attracting names like Spinvis and Lefties Soul Connection to more and more want to broaden its stable. Antwerp's Triggerfinger is a new, unpredictable name in the catalog. This power trio built from 2004, after release of their unnamed debut album, a steady live reputation on with basic rock music in traditions of Led Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The title of this successor (and Eagle for Excelsior) indicates that this is not navelstaarders. Their energetic blues rock has on record, however, more effort to stay upright than on the stage, and would always deal with it. Uitgekauwde riffs and boogies and clichés such as the guitarist who screeches with his solos, are long, decades back, done better. Entertaining and occasionally steaming sounds for sure, but this band has the rock 'n' roll audible not itself invented and continues to hang in a little too much in digital form examples.
