I have the cassette version and I really like it. To compare it to today's techno is like comparing 80s hip hop with what we have now. Through headphones this sounds epic and the track Hypnotica churns out a relentless and hypnotic beat. This is old school but still rocks. 5/5 for me.referencing Techno Rave (CD, Compilation) GRF163
I've read the other reviews and I have to disagree, it's got a less polished and more underground feel than many other rave compilations but that's what I go for. It's got that amazing nostalgic 90's feel with it's piano and acid riffs. Pretty good for late night raving as well.- Hypnotica is the winner on this compilation. Most tracks are terribly outdated, but Hypnotica still sounds fresh...especially in 2018, where techno always sounds the same...

I'm sure this CD receives a pretty low rating because 1) has been released countless times with the lousiest of titles and covers and 2) could be found (still lurks around) in places like large department stores, stationeries, and probably even in your own church's library. Personally, if I pass the fact that I might be oblivious that my late grandmother could have also owned a copy (maybe borrowed from the church's library, who knows) I find this quite decent if you consider when it was released. Some tracks sound like you're witnessing the birth of hardcore-breakbeat-techno-house, so sound quality, production and style are terribly dated, but if you dig old-school sounds as described above you should give this a try. If you don’t like, well, for what you should have paid for this probably the empty jewel box should have made your purchase still worth.
My favourite is ‘Dominator’. referencing Techno Rave (CD, Compilation) GRF163
Exactly the kind of thing you'd find if you were desperate enough to look through the CD racks in Superdrug while your girlfriend bought her lady towels.
