So dark, heavy and, at the same time, extremelly touching. It isn't easy to walk someone else's shoes, but Duvall made a great impression and was able to honour Layne's legacy. Great record.

I'll keep this review short and sweet, with a little background on what this album is to me. I'm a die hard AiC fan, and when I heard a new album would be coming out I was more than skeptical; no-one can replace Layne. For that reason, I avoided listening to this album until now (I know, small-minded me). If you go into this expecting the band that left in the 90s you will be disappointed. If you go into this having listened to Jerry's side projects and with a ear towards AiC's instrumentation versus singing, you will fall in love. Duvall has a helluva set of pipes on him, and Jerry just sounds pissed behind the guitar. It's a masterful album, and one I regret not hearing sooner.
