Has the obvious ABB influences, but hey – its Dickey Betts - one hell-ov-a (if under-appreciated) talented guitarist (his slide work is amazing), a good vocalist & writer. This has some mighty fine moments. A listening joy. A pretty good slice of good ol' southern rawk-n-roll.

Amazing how these Arista labels have deteriorated. My copy looks as bad as the labels in the copy here...the paper is just decomposing despite the vinyl being NM.

Every track on this LP underscores a growing depth and maturity to Dickey Betts' songwriting, guitar playing, and in particular, his singing. This is a perfect LP for grabbing a cold one and a rolled one, sitting back in a comfortable chair, and giving a serious listen to it start to finish, with a little extra attention to Bougainvillea (last track on side 2). It literally drips with tastefully smooth and melodic guitar soloing than ANY picker would be proud of. I'll betcha Duane would love it. It's clear (at least to THIS listener) that the creativity of Dickey Betts shines through no matter who he's making music with. Just shows to go ya...you can kick the boy outa the band, but ya can't kick the band outa the boy...
