King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard – Teenage Gizzard

Straight from Digger's Factory, I received a black vinyl version that matches this information and barcode. No mention of limited edition or number.

So let me start by saying that this release LOOKS great. I think the picture disk came out great, the packaging is really unique, and you the quality is overall great. The issue is the sound quality. Unfortunately, this release falls into the "picture disk bad" stereotype, and doesn't sound quite as good as a lot of other pressings. A lot can be forgiven with Teenage Gizzard given the "raw" sound it has from the bands early days, but this time it didn't seem to offer enough of a buffer to compensate for the audio quality of the disk itself.

I know it's not really shocking to say that a picture disk isn't audiophile quality, but even with that in mind, this one sounded kind of lifeless. Suffice to say, if you are looking for your one and only Teenage Gizzard pressing, I'd look elsewhere. But if you're a degenerate like me and its your 10th pressing of the album, then this is a cool novelty piece.

The pressing LOOKS amazing. My copy came out incredible, and it was absolutely worth the wait. Audio wise, its fine. It has the same surface noise issue that any GITD record does, but, owing to the fact that the original tracks were recorded through a tin can on a string connected to a Nokia 3310, you don't really notice it beyond the silence between tracks. Not an audiophile pressing, but not a bad pressing by any means. Definitely a cool piece to add to your bootlegger collection.

Maybe it's just my pressing, but this is the worst pressing I've ever received. I really don't know how my copy made it past QA or even off the press. My pressing feels like it's about 300grams, it's heavy, and it's lopsided the outer edges are thicker than the opposite side. Great album though

Super cool record and awesome sleeve. Was pretty much the main reason i bought it lol. The album is pretty cool too

The die-cut cover impaled my copy of MF DOOM and Madlib's "Madvillainy", which I had shelved infront of it. In the action of impaling through the album, it retracted onto itself and tore the die-cut cover a substantial amount. Will try doing repairments for both LPs, but this is much more likely to stay outside of my record shelf, and I implore you to do this aswell incase your copy acts up and decides to sever any hip hop classics you have in your collection.

Not mentioned above, but this is limited to 800 copies.
