Notes
The Man Who Sold the World is the third from 26 studio albums (1967-2016) by the British rock musician David Bowie. Recording 17 April – 22 May 1970 at Trident Studios in London. Originally released November 1970 on Mercury in the United States, this album had a variety of different covers, although the official cover is now believed to be the April 1971 UK cover.
The German Mercury edition contains some extra music at the conclusion of the album - as the last track fades out a short section of an earlier track "Saviour Machine" is heard. Evidence of this being the original intention can be deduced by it also appearing very faintly and much briefer on the RCA editions.

- Finally got around to listening to the Metrobolist/Man Who Sold The World-Remix-Remaster .Sounds fantastic to my ears. But since they DID remix it from the multitracks sans one track why couldn’t we get a Blu Ray Audio of it as well? Rhino-how about that for 2025? (55th Anniversary)
referencing The Man Who Sold The World (LP, Album, Reissue, Dynaflex version, Rockaway plant. ) LSP-4816
The bottom end on this is crazy good with nice clear highs as well. Great pressing.referencing The Man Who Sold The World (LP, Album, Stereo, Stamped Matrix, PR - Philips Pressing) SR 61325

- I have a copy still in shrink wrap. The three bars above the logo extend over the top, but the matrix numbers are etched. So is it real or not?
- Took me a few listens to truly appreciate this one as the greatness it is. The undertones of almost hard rock really sell this album for me. Other than the title track I really enjoy "Savior Machine" just something about the instrumental really gets me grooving as well as David's haunting vocals.
- Clearly this is Tony Visconti trying to honour his friend, by recreating the original cover idea (with speech bubble/ Cane Hill asylum) and title (inspired by the film Metropolis), which was changed last minute without Bowies consent.
And as his half brother Terry was in that Croydon asylum, it had a lot of meaning for him. He often quoted how important Terry was for him and gave Bowie his first taste of rock and roll via the records he shared with him.
The 'remixes' sound great on my system (never heard the original on vinyl admittedly). Don't like it, don't buy it, you cynics! - Anyone here wondering why it may sound like it has too much bass and hides the guitars, it is most likely because your stylus is not set up correctly. I have a friend who put on a new copy of this, and it skipped sometimes, crackled in spots and was sonically quiet. I immediately noticed the dullness of the sound quality, and when coming to the part of "The Width Of A Circle" where the backing vocals say "turn around, go back!"... I could not hear the "go back" part, and knew something was wrong.
It was because of the stylus' position and cant. Make sure your stylus/cartridge is correctly aligned.
I put on "The Cars: Let's Go" form "Candy-O" and also noticed the "clap" parts when the drums hit were also not being heard. I then corrected the stylus position and could hear the "clap clap, clap clap" part.
Then when I put on the Bowie, I could hear what was previously missing.
It is mucho importante to align your stylus/cartridge properly. Otherwise it will NOT touch the grooves like it should, and will miss certain parts of the songs.
NOT like CDs guys. Just a reminder.
