Have to agree with the other reviewers, this is a really nice atmospheric track which still sounds good today. Both mixes are good. A lot of d&b around the turn of the millennium sounded pretty horrid, however this comfortably sits among all-time classics of the genre.

At the end of the nineties I began to lose interest in drum & bass. Looking back it was the sterility of latter millennial tech-step and formulaic jump up which did it in for me, at least up until the likes of Digital and Ray Keith re-introduced the amen break back into the scene.

However this release by Doc Scott re-sparked my love of D&B. Essentially a reworking of Mr Fingers house classic, 'Can You Feel It'. 'Liquid Fingers' begins with the iconic vocal of it's source of inspiration before introducing deep synth pad notes (also lifted from Mr Fingers). Miles away from Nasty Habits' signature sound of nastiness, the track rolls on with a simplistic breakbeat and atmospheric water effects to create a nostalgic piece of chilled, epic drum & bass. An absolute masterpiece incorporating the best of the past and future elements also. Highly recommended tune.
