Edited 6 months agoWherein each member brings a special musical influence to elements of country, blues, R&B, soul & folk roots styles as if purposefully arranged as a loose jam session that has been melded together to form the now familiar character, tempo & blueprint of modern cosmic Americana. The Band are “THE" band.
Stunning music.
Solid collection of songs from The Band, and a well known classic compilation. The pressing is solid. Sounds are good and clear. I just so happened to open and play one of these copies that were produced in the 90’s through BMG Record Club and it’s a very good especially given how the music world turned it’s back on vinyl at that time due to CDs.- This is a great compilation, as previously mentioned we have here a very quiet pressing with excellent sound quality
Edited 3 months agoIn reference to a variant, DIDX-050768 IFPI L323 Mould SID 6708. Heavy bass and sparkling cymbals suggest a flat and open transfer.
All of these tracks sound great on vinyl! The reproduction on this pressing is very quiet, with minimal surface noise. My copy has a few age-related crackles (bought second hand on Discogs) here and there, but is generally very clean and click-free.
does anyone know about the rainbow label? issue id assume 80s when they reused the 60s label but there is no listing currently, I've had this for years not looking to sell just curious sounds decent, and had this as a kid on CD fond memories. amazing band
Pretty decent comp. Probably could've included some more stuff from Big Pink, particularly "I Shall Be Released" and maybe something from The Last Waltz.
