- Disapointing pressing.
I thought my needle needed replacement, instead I Replace the pressing and sold my copy on the double - quality remaster. loud, but the beats don't have too much going on to where the amount of dynamic compression makes everything fall apart. the eq also isn't very harsh like other hip-hop remasters i bought that i ended up replacing with original cds.
i don't see myself replacing this.
i recommend. - Gave it a spin last night and it sounds good! No issues with either the pressing, the mastering, or with quality control. Both disks perfectly quiet after cleaning.
The only thing I could compare it with was a digital copy, (Apple Lossless), via Apple Music, and it compared favorably. I had a copy back in the early 90s, but foolishly sold it. Pressing it across two disks no doubt gives it more breathing room than the original had.
Packaging is fine. Not a gatefold, but neither was the original. I put the disks into MoFi sleeves, and there was still plenty of room in the jacket for them and the original cardboard sleeves.
You should buy it.
Equipment:
VPI Prime w/ Ortofon Cadenza Bronze
Both stream and turntable through McIntosh C2700 preamp, (DA-2 DAC module) - Cover art confused me because it was very bad on front but inserts were very nice but that doesn’t matter because the LP Sounded great. Sleeves were a bit hard to take the vinyl out but no problems, glad all the tracks got pressed this time!
- The track list of this reissue is thankfully identical to the CD, not the original cassette release's list. Johnny's Dead, My Brother's A Basehead, Who Do You Worship?, and Kicked Out The House are all included. The cassette sounds and plays great.
- Nothing special to be honest
Cover and inner sleeves look very cheap
LP sounds very muffled
What a shame! - Got some sound issues on my copy.. Got a new vinyl of the album from the same place.. same sound issue on the second one they sent me.. It's like weak sound on some parts before the sound comes back to normal again..
Anyone with the same problem? - Best pressing so far! Superb sound quality! Market prices way too high. Maybe VMP will do another release in the future.
- Edited one year agoDisappointing release. Just compared with VMP 2019 release and it is just like listening to a whole different album. VMP release is the best pressing out there. Sound quality VMP is also superieur. Avoid!
