- This record sounds great to me. I bought a used copy, cleaned it, kept expectations low. Clear vinyl usually sounds horrible in my experience. There are a couple pops/crackle on the quiet parts, but I'm impressed. This is a keeper for me, and I'm a perfectionist. The bonus tracks are essential, so this is my final copy.
- Beaucoup de défauts de pressage : Le début de la face A est comme "brûlée", le vinyle est constellé de poussières noire qui visuellement sont en relief et génèrent des craquement.
referencing Deathwish (LP, Mini-Album) S.D.4
Beyond the overwhelming voice of the young Rozz WIlliams, we'll never say enough how the utterly amazing work on guitar Rick Agnew did on this monumental record. It's a lot of the early Christian Death magic, this massive wall of guitar sound and the way he treated with pedals. Totaly unique and fascinating... And this is what Valor never reached in the second line up of the band. He was definitively not a genius on guitar.
The mistery is : Rick Agnew used to play by the time in the Adolescents or on his solo LP. But nowhere in these recording did he just approach the mad intensity of the first 2 early Christian Death. Why ?
And when they played again together in 1993 in this crazy live you can find on Cleopatra, here we go ! The magic is there again... Rozz Williams and Rick Agnew along with the impeccable rhythm section, where one of their kind and this recording is nothing you should consider lightly. Masterpiece is the least we can say...- Record looks beautiful, but unfortunately the sound quality is atrocious. Lots of surface noise even after a Spin Clean wash. Music sounds incredibly condensed as well. The 2015 clear vinyl version even sounds better than this. Btw this is a 2022 release, not 2015.
- Isn't this the correct track listing?
A1 Deathwish
A2 Romeo's Distress (Nouvelle Version)
A3 Dogs
A4 Desperate Hell
A5 Spiritual Cramp (Nouvelle Version)
A6 Cavity (Nouvelle Version)
B1 Sleepwalk (Original Version)
B2 Invocation III
B3 Haloes
B4 Spectre (Love Is Dead)
B5 Romeo’s Distress (Demo 1981)
Why are the bonus tracks not included? - Why is this release considered as Cleopatra's? The only thing that could suggest it is the matrix, there is no single Cleopatra or Horus Eye logo elsewhere.
