Jimmy Eat World – Chase This Light

Am trying to add my copy to discogs but the sticker definitely isnt for Chase This Light and its not a gatefold…not sure what I’ve got here….

No insert, no hype sticker, and a cheap paper sleeve... But, a fantastic pressing.

Happy to pick this up on Amazon Marketplace, paid 4 pounds for postage and it came from the USA. Super. Sounds fantastic. No insert included just the disc and housing.

I think this sounds fantastic. Clearly, new lacquers were cut because the old pressings cutoff the beginning of Big Casino. I do not have an old pressing to compare it to, but this one sounds damn good. Not advertised, but its pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Nice heavy pressing with little to no surface noise. Wish it had an insert, but overall, worth picking up.

Got to make sure you're getting the sterling cut of this. I bought the 2024 reissue not knowing what I was getting. Turned out to be a digitally compressed reissue without the insert. Sent that back and bought an original. Came with the insert and Sterling on the runout. What a difference ! This original knocks the reissue out the water for quality. The depth to the sound is the giveaway.

Be careful if you dont get a hype sticker if its new or insert otherwise to check if you have Sterling otherwise its from PRP/GZ and compressed rubbish.

No Insert or hype sticker put in a plain non poly paper sleeve. Audio seems compressed possibly from a digital source.
At least Big Casino is all there with the intro. Sounds fine I guess. I know this album like the back of my hand and this is exactly how it sounds digitally. Vinyl is 180g. I guess its the same as the general reissue of Bleed American going around but even then this is a small sleeve and not gatefold. The Spine info is also upside down. Id be interested to know if anyone has this and the 2007 issue with Sterling cut which sounds better.

Update: The Sterling Cut does indeed so way better and is cut from the master tape before the fire of 2008. Its a real shame the quality will be lost from here on in, in time.

Mine came without any insert. Did anyone get an insert with this 2024 repress?

Does this variant have the pressing issues that plague some of the black copies from around this time?

My copy doesn't have the insert with the lyrics and photos nor the hype sticker... that sucks

Mine seems fine. I can hear that random voice right in the beginning that I cant understand. If there is a bit of music missing I'm not too sure, maybe it's where the needle is starting but that seems obvious. Have you guys noticed a lot of surface noise off the record? As in if you mute the audio with it still spinning you can hear the noise off the needle pretty well compared to others records?
