The best way to experience this gem is the Italian 12" on Baby Records. The longer versions of both songs are far superior to the short 7" versions. So what's this song all about? Really good italo disco song, that much is for sure. "Macho Man" sounds A LOT like an italo disco version of a 70's disco song by Boney M. (or whoever the original may be by - if any one at all). I also feel the sound of euro disco here, which would be pulling at least some influence out of Germany. In addition to sounding straight out of 1986, you've got the male/female vocals, majority being female singing chorus, and a short rap by the male vocalist. The instrumentals are fantastic and the song is pretty damn good overall! Lastly, it's flat-out dirt cheap, the artwork is outstanding (featuring their 'mascot'), and it's a gateway into an album and several more 12" releases by Andrea (4).
