- It's not a replacement mirror, You're supposed to use it for a mind blowing optical illusion described on the inside of the barely legible gatefold. I still didn't get one, though. Bummer
- Hi, I have owned for many years this LP on Philips 6499 014 reissue and on CD Captain Trip CTCD 583 585. I am a lover of the Krautrock genre and this record is among the strangest I've ever heard. This record I often recommend for listening to fans or future artists because it defines the non-limit of psychadelia. If this Zweistein group was able to express these concepts and make a recording, whoever does not put any limits on creativity. Listen 1 or more times and then make a judgment. Thank you all from Baffomix
- Zweistein is nothing but a hyped recording that is neither Kraut, nor Rock. So how can it be a Krautrock classic? It's a woman who talks, plays and laughs (possibly with a kid) - and that's it! This is like the poor (wo)man's version of Joe Meek and Ross Bagdasarian Sr's Alvin and The Chipmunks...
Utter rubbish!
/Jörg - This new reissue is the optimum way to hear this album. It's a great pressing and the artwork is just eye boggling, too beautiful for words. All this and the bonus 7" make for a great listening experience.
- anybody somehow have a copy of "Meditation" they are willing to part with? Ive got a VG copy of the first two Discs and the sleeve but no LP 3!
- ...first off its got to be considered that this is one correctly titled LP, 'TRIP/FLIP OUT/MEDITATION', completely true and aint no cause for thinking otherwise, a three disk blowout of wiggy weirdness that's just ready for heads to dig, and dig mighty deep as this is a trip to inner space with varying routes for all who wish to get a ticket, a one way trip that'll be different and rewarding for the faithful...a waxing with everything a bonged head could wish for comes around and takes leave only to return in different form with a buzz just as cool, tape manipulation, distorted glimpses of long lost conversation, channel hopping, phasing, spaced out knob-twiddling galore (any one digging Ron Geesin will get the rush) bongos and heavy distortion takes the listener to the spaceways stoned cathedral which Zwiestein inhabit, the carnival of mutant souls, maybe the souls of true earth dwellers, not the vacuous shadowmen in the ascendance ready to fall at any moment, this is a communion with a better groove, a more complete return to future past, a tribal reunion of the heads...mad scientist keyboard plink give a B-movie atmosphere with plenty of wobbly phasing liberally spread around, cinema verite grooves bring on childhood memories during the second disk as the listener becomes a participant in the flip-out, the carnival vibes are accentuated with the Tommy James hit 'hanky panky' spreading itself across the speakers (cats of a certain vintage will remember that tommy tune being played at every fairground in the 'freeworld')...the third disk takes a train ride to the garden of eden, to the beginning where dream time merges with 'physical reality', where it all goes in but dosen't always come out, the in-between times that cant be measured in known units (a heavy ESP-Disk groove happens here, bringing on visions of the Godz and giving outernational flesh to the free-jazzbo grooves coming out of NYC basements and lofts during the turbulent 60's)...the carnival is once again rising to take command, we're all freaks in the freakshow, waiting to be set free and set us free it will, because like the best Krautrock it came to liberate the free thinking cat from the tyranny of the capitalist state, to elevate above the mundane mind-control of worker/drone acceptance, the status quo was to be challenged in/by any means possible, the Baader-Meinhof (the greatest of all K-rock combos without playing an advertised gig) were not just radical chic bank robbers, a Bonnie and Clyde of the left, they were a tributary along which many followed, whether they knew or not...a wig-lifter of no uncertain proportions, uncomfortable yet strangely familiar, an unraveling of the life strands that hold in gravity limbo...
