- This a great compilation of instrumental trip hop/turntablism, it sounds great, as far as I remember, side C is cut at lower volume, so I had to pump up the loudness when I made a digital copy...
- This record looks and sounds great. A must have for any DJ Shadow fan. Happy to support this artist and the release of physical media.
- So I *think* this is the version I found at my local record store, but it sounds like there are more pressing than listed on Discogs. The labels on the first record of my copy appear to be are mixed up: The matrix/runouts for sides A and B match what’s listed for this pressing, but side A has the “side two” label, and side B has the “side one” label. Is this consistent with anyone else’s copy? Am I missing something obvious?
- Just found an original 98 press for 55$ CAD in a local shop today. I've never come across this one in the wild, had to get it.
Been a fan forever, basically since Endtroducing. Saw him open for Chemical Brothers in Vancouver in 98. Preemptive and Endtro are just legendary to me and shaped that whole era for me. So glad to add it. Mo Wax was just killer stuff back then. - I added the Masterdisk pressing if anyone has it instead of URP in on their runouts DJ Shadow - Preemptive Strike
- Excellent compilation of DJ Shadow’s early works, even if it does lack ‘Entropy’, which is one of my favourite early Shadow toons. Best track would have to be the very funky almost Big Beat-esque ‘Extended Overhaul’ remix of ‘Orgon Donor’ from Shadow’s first LP and the 12 minute epic ‘In/Flux’, which is a trip-hop classic.
- Here is a tip on how to define press quickly: on the reissue almost half of A side is dead wax, while on A side of original one the grooves are almost up to the label
- My copy says "PROMOTIONAL COPY, NOT FOR SALE" in gold, on the back cover above the track list.
