Compilation of rarities and previously unreleased songs.
The album was released on December 14, 1992, in Europe, and December 15, 1992, in the United States.

Previously unreleased songs -
"Hairspray Queen", "Aero Zeppelin", and "Big Long Now" were officially unreleased at the time, as well as the versions of "Been a Son", "Aneurysm", and "(New Wave) Polly", which are different from the versions previously released on the Blew EP, the Smells Like Teen Spirit single, and the Nevermind record, respectively.

Previously released songs
"Dive" and "Sliver" were released on the Sliver single in 1990. "Dive" was also previously released on The Grunge Years compilation album in 1991.
"Stain" was released on the Blew EP in 1989.
The three cover songs, "Turnaround" (Devo), "Molly's Lips" and "Son of a Gun" (The Vaselines) were released on the Hormoaning (Exclusive Australian '92 Tour EP) in 1992, which was only released in Japan and Australia.
"Mexican Seafood" appeared on the 1989 Teriyaki Asthma Vols. I-V compilation.
"Beeswax" appeared on the 1991 Kill Rock Stars compilation album.
"Downer" appears on the CD version of Nirvana's 1989 debut album Bleach.

Mine is definately this version with the mispelled Aero Zeppelin. But also mine has got the blue swirl hype sticker, while the vinyl is black. Others have this?

I agree with all of you guys....i ve a shrinkwrapped superb copy of this by many years and everytime it spin on my turntable it s party time for a Nirvana junkie ears

Whoever is in charge of Nirvana's anniversaries vinyl pressings knows what they're doing and this 25th anniversary variant is no different. Sound is great with no surface noise on either disc. Outer sleeve is a nice quality material.

Only negatives would be the lack of lyric inserts or extra goodies for an anniversary variant. The 30th of In Utero and 20th of Bleach in my collection have a second disc each with extra music for example. But if you just care about having a great pressing of the album then this is more than fine.

Just picked this up a couple weeks ago brand new, one of the best sounding records in my collection period. You can even pick up on the differences in source quality at times, studio takes vs. BBC Sessions, etc. by far the most quiet inner groove I've ever heard

That copy just cracked me open – the bass on “Dive” is incredibly full and warm, sitting right at the front without overwhelming the rest of the mix. The soundstage feels wide and dimensional, with each instrument occupying its own space in a way that brings real clarity to the lo-fi textures of these tracks. You can hear every nuance in Kurt’s vocals and the raw edges of the guitar tones feel more alive than on other versions I’ve heard. Even the quieter moments carry surprising detail. This pressing captures the chaotic spirit of the album while giving it a sense of depth and definition that’s not always easy to find. If you’re searching for a definitive vinyl copy – go for this one.

I compared this with the 2x12"45 RPM version cut by Chris Bellman and the original 1992 CD. This BG cut was my least favorite sounding one. It has a very "laid back" presentation of the sound. The guitars are smoothed over, the cymbals are pushed back, and everything sounds relaxed, almost to the point of sounding muffled sometimes. It does not suit the sound well for these songs. The mid range is missing a bit here too compared to the CD and the 45 RPM. If you like that modern smooth sound, then go for this. If you want a better representation and (probably) more accurate sound, stick with the original CD or pick up the CB cut.

Great pressing. Neither record has any warping. Superb sound! One of my favorite Nirvana pressings.
