山崎ハコ* – 飛・び・ま・す

Sometimes you just stumble upon something that really resonates with you, and that’s exactly what happened with 飛・び・ま・す by Hako Yamasaki. I wasn’t actively looking for a new album, but then I found this one, and it instantly grabbed my attention.

From the first track, it’s clear that this isn’t your run-of-the-mill record. Hako Yamasaki’s voice has a raw, almost weathered quality—like it’s seen and felt a lot—which gives every song an authenticity that’s hard to come by. There’s a kind of vulnerability in the way the songs are sung, making you feel like you’re right there with the artist, experiencing all those ups and downs.

The instrumentation is pretty stripped down, which I actually love. A simple mix of acoustic guitars, soft strings, and just a hint of percussion creates this mellow, almost nostalgic atmosphere. It feels intimate, like listening to a story told in a cozy, dimly lit room. Whether it’s a slow, thoughtful ballad or a gentle folk tune, every track has its own mood that fits perfectly into the overall vibe of the album.

Was happy to find out that it was released in Europe but sound quality of this release sucks. I'm disappointed.

Question for the Japanese speakers here : shouldn't the title, in romaji, be "Hibimasu" rather than "Tobimasu" as written on the sticker?

This album being played for the first time tonight has become one of my favorite records of all time. This music is beautiful and that voice, oh that voice and a beautiful pressing to boot. Better pick up a copy now before the price gets out of reach.

Do I wish that there was an insert with release info as opposed to all of the release info only appearing on two stickers on the shrink wrap that I so desperately would like to remove? Yes. For sure.
Am I happy to have a dead mint copy that was pressed flawlessly at Optimal and that sounds amazing? Absolutely.

Really disappointed they did not replicate the beautiful labels from the original release! Press is amazing, just wish the labels had her pics!

Mostly identical to the 1975 release. Different record label and album cover, but much less expensive. One of my favorite records of all time.

The most beautiful Voice of Japan. So touching and so underrated. Also beautiful cover ..mezmerizing.

Odds are, if you heard any of her songs and liked them, you will not regret picking up this album. An absolute classic.
