Girls Against Boys – **House Of GVSB**

I’m curious how this “eco friendly” vinyl plays. My hunch is it’s noisy as all hell.
Feel free to chime in if you have experience.

Got a sealed copy today and it was scuffed all over. Looked terrible

Update: tried another copy, same centering issues. WTF is up with these pressing plants that don't even attempt to center stampers on the press? Just garbage quality here which is so common these days. To top it off, the second copy had some nice scratches on it straight from the factory. Whomever is pressing these needs to take a serious look at basic QC/QA and go back to stamper centering 101.

Mastering sounds pretty good and it's great to get all the extra songs on LP 2. Unfortunately LP 1 was warped and pressed off-center on both sides. LP 2 dished and off-center also. Not sure who pressed this. Made in Canada sticker on the back but matrices look like RTI. It could have been plated at RTI only and pressed somewhere in Canada...or maybe only the jackets were made in Canada? Anyone have info from T&G?

No double-CD remastered reissue for us non-vinyl folk? Please, Touch and Go.

This definitely is an improvement over the original CD I had. I'd be curious to hear the 1996 vinyl version though, because I find that the first three tracks on Side 1 are thinner sounding, which not something you want on those tracks, especially "Super-Fire"! The rest of it sounds more beefy though.

One of their best, if not THE best GVSB album. This release Works both as a due reissue of this bona fide classic, and as an odds and ends compilation of hard to find single and compilation tracks. It would be debatable if putting together material from 93 to 96 makes sense in the context of the album (they released three in that period), but if you are a completist sucker for vinyl you won’t have any complains to get a full Lp of bonus material, including the “House of GVSB” outtake “Your Life to Slide”. And remastered by Bob Weston, which is synonymous of five star audio. All in all, a winner..

One of the best Touch and Go releases of the 90s! This remaster sounds mostly fine if not a little stuffy at times. I'm not going to nitpick about instrument separation on a loud rock album. Glad to have this and the bonus tracks are fantastic!

One of my favorite albums, a much fuller sound than the CD I grew up listening to. Very slightly warped causing a slight shimmy on the tonearm but doesn't affect audio quality.

Another fantastic album by Girls Against Boys, the last one for indy label Touch and Go before the band moves to major label Geffen - for less convincing experiment (Freak✶on✶ica) - and what a great shot! Touch and Go remains their best phase, irrefutably.
