Isn't it weird how music can kick you in the nuts? I never took to this at the time,yet somebody put 'lucky man' and 'the drugs don't work' on a jukebox a few years back and I was almost moved to tears.
I duly gave myself a slap for my aforementioned ignorance and immediately purchased it.

Hi, I have a copy of a 1997 The Verve, Urban Hymns, 2 Vinyl LP with Band Labels.

My version has the band pictured on each label with no rim text. It also has 2 rings on each inner label (One near the spindle hole and one near the album title). Here is a link to that version. There are comment here stating that the information here is incorrect and that this is not the original 97 press but a later unknown dated pressing -

The other two 1997 versions are the black labelled LP and the limited 'brown mailer' LP. Both of these versions have rim text and only 1 ring near the spindle hole. Here are links to both these versions -

Excellent pressing all around. A gatefold would have been nice, but not necessary. The remastering seems to bring out a richness that was lacking in my old original CD. Yet another album that I have listened to countless times over the past couple decades and have found new enjoyment because of a well produced reissue LP. Well done!
