Reviews
- This CD marks when Tangerine Dream soundtracks became derivative of their previous studio material-for example 'Church Theme' on Wavelength is just like a track on a 1981 TD soundtrack called Thief which is also just like a track on the 1986 TD soundtrack called The Park is Mine. There is apparently no getting away from that track. Its a good track but not three times in a row under three different titles. The Wavelength CD is part of a 1500 unit 'limited edition' so I would have expected a bit better than whats on it perhaps: also another Wavelength track is basically just a light remix of the TD studio track 'Remote Viewing' from the 1981 TD studio release Exit. Tracks on Wavelength are very short: often not more than a minute or two in length. Tracks eleven, twelve, fourteen & sixteen are standouts-but not really by much. Overall probably not worth the price due to it largely representing an artist literally copying their own work & repackaging it under other titles. Not the type of thing you would expect from a band has displayed such creativity in the past. For serious collectors and completists only.
- This rendering is sublime. The recording is pristeen in that there are no hiss lifts or break tones. TD has acquitted themselves superbly. The sub-mixes are unclouded and your ear is better for it. Nice job gentlemen.
