Pink Floyd – Works

This Australian pressing was cut using the EMI Maxicut process. The sound is more dynamic with better instrument separation and cut at a higher volume too with no inherent distortion. Well worth the trouble finding. Unfortunately the advent of CDs stopped these pressings continuing.

All is the same as variant 6, except IFPI.
Mine IFPI is 1368 and not 1603. What do you think?

The track, 'Embryo' is worth the price of admission. Somewhat hard to find in the wild.

Just saying this particular edition is not from 1983- I bought my copy new in Melbourne in 1991 at Brash's when they were selling out all their remaining vinyl stock cheaply.

this is a 1988 release.

I have 5 vinyl versions of this album: a. Toshiba/EMI, b. Jacksonville, IL, c. Numbered Promo L-318838 also Jacksonville, IL., d. Winchester, VA number Promo # B 456589, and e. the one here from (SRC) Specialty Records. All are NM but the Toshiba and this one from (SRC) are super clean, quiet like Cds. I was 23y/o in 1983 and found this in a little record store in downtown Nashville - an overnight visit to see The Grand Ole Opry with my girlfriend at the time - great ole memory. :-).

First, really impressive sound quality. I didn't expect such a strong sounding recording at all. Clear and strong throughout. Buy this if you’re a Pink Floyd fan and want a unique and well-thought of track list.

Contains some different version of songs..different mixex of Brain Damage and Eclipse (as I understand) and Embryo..the only place I know of that has this complete and studio version of this song. It is worth getting this nice sounding cd for that song alone.

Hold it up to the light, you should be able to see through it. Virgin vinyl pressing.

Great choice of songs, well reissued sound quality.
