Had the good fortune to attend BPB's performance in Dublin the other night. A pal of his was running the merch table and had several vinyl releases for sale - was surprised to see he had a number of copies of this release so I very happily paid the agreeable price of 25 USD direct to Will's paypal account. A fantastic sounding record. Amazingly open and deep soundstage that completely obliterates my CD pressing of this album. Normally a record that sounds this good would have some infamous cutting engineers initials in the deadwax. If you like Will Oldham's music this is a must have, if you are an analog purist who loves great songwriting it is also a must have. the vinyl pressing is truly a revelation.

The intimacy of this record is unmatched, at least as far as I know. Nothing lo-fi here, a hifi live performance in my room every time this is played.

This is an amazing sounding record. Albini usually goes analog and these songs shine in this really nice pressing. Vastly superior to any digital Palace recording.

DISJOINTED, FRACTURED, SENSITIVE rootsy tunes with blues undercurrents sung and slung in Will Oldham's distinctive coming of age vocals. There are songs here about life, death, friends, family, religion, a stable home life and copulation with mountains. I get everything the Palace Bros. put out. Great in the morning, noon, or night. These guys can be found using three different monikers: Palace Brothers; Palace, and now Palace Music. The core of the band and all it's incarnations remain to be Will Oldham himself. Jason Loewenstein of Sebadoh fame plays drums on this record and sings backup. Cool.
