Has anyone compared the US original to the UK? Looks like two different cutting engineers were used:
      US: Ray Janos @ RTI
      UK: Jack Adams @ MPO

I just picked up a clean US copy and it is on translucent brown (when held to like) vinyl, maybe Quiex or similar.

Sound is fantastic, I would be impressed if anything could beat the US RTI pressing, but would love to compare it to the UK.

I was kinda worried since Splash doesn't sound the very best, but this pressing actually has great dynamics.

          HIGHLY Recommended!

FWIW, my copy says ‘Made in E.U.’ and has a “Made in Czech Republic” sticker above the 4AD logo on back cover.

Great sounding pressing. Dynamic as hell. Lots of punch in the drums and bass as it should be with this album. Good soundstage. Recommended.

Finally tracked this down. Damn if it doesn’t sound amazing.

This remains an epic album. I adored and still adore the minimalism, rawness, purity. I played it over and over again back then and still enjoy it today. Their version of Happiness Is A Warm Gun, I still kinda consider that better than the original, despite feeling awkward each and every time I hear a Beatles cover in any other case, but not here.

No issues other than some light surface noise here and there, but let’s be honest, we’re cranking this album anyway, so it doesn’t really matter. Volume sounds a little bit low at full blast too. Drums still sound pretty great. Would love to have an original pressing to compare. All in all, it’s one of my favorite albums ever, and I’m not disappointed with the purchase.

Sound similar to Surfer Rosa, not quite as slick, just too bad about the Beatles cover.
