Oni Ayhun – OAR003

Heard OAR003-B played in Panorama Bar a few years ago. Still remember people losing their shit to it <3

played by so many boring djs it's almost easy to forget how magical and unusual this was and is. ten years old now. one that will always really stay with me.

OAR003-B is a stunning piece of music that works on the dancefloor (heard it played out by Dixon for example) and as a home listening track. Characterised by a top heavy and brittle production sound it takes a trancey melodic hook and goes off on an adventure with it, romping through a series of twists and turns over the course its 11 minutes. One of the very best electronic music releases of its era.

The OG 2009 release is stamped, the whole artwork is a custom cut stamp- the ink is inconsistent (i.e thick & thin) & does not fill the circular die mount groove around the hole; where as the represses (2009 & 2015) are a solid printed image, covering the label consistently even within the die mount- groove. Also, the stamp on my copy just spills slightly onto the plain white sleeve. Hope this helps...

Not sure if this has been repressed again but I just received a copy from Juno.

Truely amazing masterpiece, this is the kind of deep house that doesn't turn up very often, the stamped artwork makes this even more special
