Notes
BRM originally covered Throbbing Gristle's "Persuasion" with Electribe 101 for their second, unreleased album. She recorded this new version with Spooky and it became her first solo release (8/93), albeit co-credited to producers Spooky. The 2002 re-release (4/02) is credited to BRM only and includes one extra version.

The rhythm of the Original Mix is build from a sample of This Mortal Coil's Heart Of Glass.
It´s also used on and off again on the 7" Mix.referencing Persuasion (12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Promo) GRRR 58
One of the best Billie Ray Martin perfomances ever, both A-side mixes are legandary and the b-side mixes where excellent club mixes in the early nineties, but those downtempo mixes really stand the test of tme.referencing Persuasion (CD, Maxi-Single) GRRR58 CD
The combination of Billie Rae Martin and Spooky leads to an indelible act of PERSUASION, a track that’s as sultry as it is disturbing, opening with an almost industrial tone, perhaps a nod to the original by Throbbing Gristle. But it’s Martin’s vocals that hold a mysterious power. The remixes try their best to augment it, with D.O.P. adding a hip-hop beat, and his alter ego Chameleon offers a substantial house mix and a more tribal dub. But it’s the “SpookyBillie’s Ventriloquist Mix” that wins out, aided by the creeping synths and a throbbing bass, giving Martin’s voice room to roam and haunt your dreams (though the version that appeared on Trance Europe Express still wins, hands-down).- Edited 3 years ago

Persuade me anytime please!! Very well executed and original Throbbing Gristle Remix in typical nineties style with a hint of 80's beats of Madonna. The Original Mix is just perfect. - Edited 7 years ago

Top tune ! But unfortunately I do not find the fantastic "exclusive d.o.p. mix" on a record! Which release contains it? -regards to all- referencing Persuasion (12", 33 ⅓ RPM) GRRR 58
OMFG, no comments??! The Original mix is one of the most amazingly lush, brooding, epic and gorgeous pieces of music these ears have EVER heard. And the slow, warbling TB-303 line towards the finale just tops off what is a stone cold classic. Why can't we go back to making records as incredible as this people?! Utterly ESSENTIAL.
