The title track of SHUNT comes in with a clatter of structured noise, as if they’ve traded progressive house for IDM, only to follow it with the dreamy piano-driven “Area 39.” “Concussion” gets back to the clanging floor-filling, and “Falx” brings in a dreamy melody to lie over an electro workout. A very strong EP.

you should know what you're getting into if you buy this one. of course this shit is gonna be weird, look at the tracklisting. i was originally looking for old house music but this was in the same bin.

industrial-influenced breaks, a soft instrumental interlude in between sides. it was released the same year as the richard d james album if that tells you anything. doesn't carry quite the same vibe as aphex, but has the talent to create these little hermetically sealed worlds the way aphex does; although spooky's beats are harder and less rhythmically complex.

all in all an interesting listen, glad i picked it up.
