Telex – This Is Telex

Great compilation with a few surprising omissions. Raised by Snakes is perhaps the most curious missing track, as it was a massive influence on House and Techno, receiving tons of playing in alternative dance circles in the mid-80s. Mata Hari is one I personally love, and I think it's one of their great songs, but it's evenly curiously missing from the new remasters of the albums, and not available for digital download. I'd love to know why that is, especially given the reawakened interest in Sparks. I do hope they put out a vinyl comp of all the 12" releases, including the Razormaid edits.

Nice compilation, all classics and two previously unreleased tracks, nicely remastered. I feel a bit disapointed that we only have a short edit of Moskow Diskow in this compilation.

Just been listening to the vinyl. Didn't really know much about them until I brought this last year. Good fun. Deadpan; looks and sounds fantastic. Excellent mixes, and excellent mastering

Sounds better than the other Telex LPs I own. In some cases the tracks are notably remixed ("Radio-Radio" being a particular example) which makes the music sound quite modern. Pretty good cross section of Telex tunes, it includes two from each LP plus a couple of unreleased tracks. It misses a lot of their best work but hey, that's what the actual albums are for :)

Great pressing, and very under-rated in my opinion. How had I not heard of them earlier?

Really curious how much remastering was done here because stuff like "Radio Radio" is so far ahead of where everyone else in the game was in 1984. this is one seriously weird compilation, most certainly not the tracks I would have chose but it is remarkably good. I guess I underrated their later years

Fantastic compilation. Everything sounds slightly different compared to the original versions, in a really pleasant way, and a lovely cover of Dear Prudence to top it off. Everything is done the way it should be, like always when it comes to Telex.
