- Excellent reissue like all of my BN 80s, I bought this when it was released, the pressing is flat and dead silent, the remaster is perfect … spacious and dynamic. I have since bought 4 other R Wilson releases, I love his music from the late 60s into the early 70s and this is one of his best! Enjoy
- First time lucky(ish).
Dish warped but centered and non fill free! Optimal cant do all three anymore lol.
Good mastering, nothing more than very good digital. Great album once it gets going as track 1 isnt the best but by the end of the first side we are truly groovin and side two goes even more groovy... its just BRILLIANT!
For £17 atm in the UK very much recommended! - Edited one year agoGreat sounding pressing (full & warm), funky organ grooves, both sides needed a GOOD cleaning. Grab it if you find one or hope for a repress.
- Side B on B1 Noise from the start and in the Middle ... Side 1 just perfect ! Must get another Copy !
- Two copies: the first with a scratch on the inside of side A causing a repetitive pop during the last minute and some glorious non-fill distortion throughout side B. The second copy absolutely perfect on side A but with yet more non-fill distortion on side B. Not going for a third copy.
- Fantastic, highly enjoyable soul jazz album. Killer tracks.
Fantastic delivery - mastering, pressing and package. Highly recommended - 6 stars. - Fantastic pressing! Clean, flat and flawless! Very dynamic with depth and a lot of detail. It has a full, warm, rich and expansive sound. Blue Note is doing a fabulous job on the "Tone Poet" and "Blue Note 80" Series. I also look forward to "The Blue Note Classic Series" with releases starting 12/2020.
- Edited 5 years agoFirst song at the beginning during the „strongest musical parts“ of the chorus (when organ, bass, guitar and drums meet heaviest) I recognize some fussy signals on my soundsystem. (Sorry, I have difficulties to explain it better)
