- Edited 11 months agoOh dear, what on earth was Bernard Sumner doing with his singing here? Trying to sound American? As for the little yips and whelps, those don't help his cause. Embarrassing. By this point in time New Order seems merely performative, as indicated by the bassist trying to emulate Hooky's akimbo stance. Perhaps I'm being hyperobservant and critical, but that is what fame and previous glory brings.
- I just noticed that this album was released by Warner Music. Since NO are signed to Mute, whatever it's merits, (I personally don't need another NO live album) was this redundant live album a contractual obligation album?
- Great performance. Killer setlist. Excellent pressing. I also have a different take on Bernard's vocals. First, they are well placed in the mix (lower) and better than a lot of New Order recordings and performances. He's also singing more than the common talking/yelling in recent years. I personally like it, but can understand why people wouldn't, especially if you're used to some other live recordings. I'm guessing most fans are going to love this, but if you're skeptical stream it first.
- The sound quality is pretty awesome considering this was a live performance. I have to agree with other reviews - Bernard vocals are not at his best on this one (which is something noticeable in recent live performances). I would had loved this to be recorded at a higher volume level, but overall the quality is very good for a 2021 release.
- Edited one year agoBernard is not as his best in this one but the music is so powerful! so good! that you just Don't care about Bernard. The setlist is a killer one! the third record is just perfect. I have the NOMC15 as well and I must say both concerts are different.
Very enjoyable concert from the beginning to the end and the sound is terrific. Highly recommended. - I have to say that Bernard's vocals on this performance are pretty bad. A very big difference compared to the vocals he manages on Live at the Troxy or Bestival. To me his vocals are at times so bad that it really detracts from the performance by either being just lack lustre or completely off. I have NOMC15 and So It Goes so decided to give this a pass. To anyone considering it I would give it a listen on spotify before buying.
- Just when you thought you'd seen the last of the bloody tedious obsession with white artwork (or black) on every single New Order release ....along comes this welcome 3LP / 2CD live package - with a different colour cover design for once with inlays / inners .... but then you take out the actual records and what greets you? Yes, you guessed ..... MORE BORING WHITE LABELS!
Can we have some more inspired packaging for once, to go with the music, please? - Great Flashback and awesome Performance to hear. Pressing and Sound quality was really good. Not so good, all Records comes into a hard cardboard inner sleeve. Had to be carefully put out immediately switch into a antistatic foiled inner sleeve. I prefer the MoFi inner sleeves. To the Album: From the beginning of the Live Album you get into a nice historic atmosphere surrounded by the live audience. All Songs where played great, i was pretty surprised of the "Disorder" Performance. Awesome Interpretation, for me (together with other Joy Division classics) my absolutly Highlight. All in all i enjoy any second of this great Live album. Deffo my personal Album Highlight of 2021 !
