Seamless and mesmerizing blend of oceanic ambient sweeps, catchy electro beats, haunting japanese dialogue and cleansing melodies. Sounds nostalgic and original at the same time. I must tip the fedora for him not going too experimental, yet keeping me hooked the whole album. This album is more rhythm oriented than the following Sakura, yet atmosphere is still the key factor, delivered with insanely catchy basslines. For me, this is the evening album, and Sakura is the night album.

Pleasant listening experience with nothing too less, nothing too much. The Sushi Club manages to create remarkably original and nuanced albums from simple elements. Shining gem in the polluted ocean of this genre.

It's fine music. Totally off mainstream. My favourite tracks are Koi, Daini No Sekai and Shibaebi. But in my opinion, their later release The Sushi Club - Sakura shows more atmosphere and works better as whole.
