This horrible collection could not be further away from the spirit and philosophy of the original composer, completely shredded in pieces here. Really awful, almost unlistenable when you know something about Steve Reich.

I want to bring a balanced perspective on this. I was unaware of who Steve Reich was in 1999. So this compilation introduced me to his work. So I dont find it to be horribke at all
Its decent and has some good.memories for me. So in that retrospect I cant be mad

The 4th track on disc two is an untitled, unmentioned track. It's a simple vocal clip that's chopped up and looped over and over on top of itself for nearly 13 minutes.
UPDATE!
After a little more research, I found that the track is "Come Out" by Steve Reich and is not a remix either.

I've not lasted my way through all these but I will say this album shows how works of genius can be turned into grade A crap by normally decent producers who have no respect or familiarity with the original works.

This collection is a disappointing melange of half baked ideas and a general failure to meet the demands of the source material. Coldcut's twitchy, bubbly techno approach works nicely, but the absolute bottom of the remix barrel is reached with Tranquility Bass' awful "Megamix," which mixes many classic tracks into a pointless novelty exercise. Howie B cuts apart and pastes together "8 Lines," then adds dopey ticking percussion and cheesy effects along with warped voice samples. Andrea Parker puts forth a relaxed, dull, dark electro impression of "The Four Sections." Nobukazu Takemura begins promisingly enough but repetition weighs his version down as the same vocal motif repeats over and over. Admirers of Steve Reich and the collective talent of the remixers will likely be disappointed.
