This is yet another album that does not really work for me, well at least to a really satisfying level. It just feels a mess, with random mediocre tracks used and poor mixing in places. One CD is definitely far stronger than the other, but this is still a giant mixed bag. It is shoddily put together and you can tell in places.
The first CD, mixed by Tall Paul is not very good. I listened to it and had no desire to come back for a second time - the songs chosen are just bland for me and more of a been there, done that. I did at least enjoy El Nino, La by Marc Et. Claude, and Wizards Of The Sonic, but what were they thinking shoehorning It's A Fine Night between those tracks?! Also, the Tall Paul remix of Beachball sucks and For An Angel could have been utilised better. The first seven tracks before the trance kicked in was not memorable, either. The mixing is OK, but not much else to say here.
The second CD is much stronger, and while it starts poorly, it gets better by the time we reach No Me Gustah (so I agree with the below review). From this point on, most of the tracks are really good and well thought of. Some honorable mentions include Fontaine And Vern Mix of Mystery Land, What Ya Got 4 Me, Spiritual Light, Ayla and What Ya Got 4 Me. That is not all, but they are the ones that stand out. The mixing on the other hand is good in places, and terrible in others! This is a shame.
Due to CD2, it nearly gets a 4 star but the first CD was really not very good at all. The mixing could have been better throughout, and so could the journey from start to finish. This album is fine, but probably not one that I would really come back to..- Edited 2 years ago

Gonna have to go against the grain on this one, not a fan overall. CD2 is certainly the stronger of the two cds in my humble; though it doesn't really pick up until No Me Gustah. CD1 is a 50/50 split of great pumpin house and...really dull progressive house/early hard house. CD2 starts out the same kind of way but moves nice and trancey towards the end. Preferred the previous Cream Anthems.
Really nice hearing Spiritual Light, had one that on vinyl at the time and caaaained it so much. Beautiful track. referencing Cream Anthems (2×CD, Mixed) VTDCDX 229
One of the best DJ Mix CD albums I've ever owned.referencing Cream Anthems (2×CD, Mixed) VTDCDX 229
early weekends, January 1999, over 20 years ago. These CDs were pure, absolute gold. 1 hour ride home and pop this in the CD player after a very long night at the clubs. Many people just have no idea how much fun that time was.
