Reviews
- Sounds fantastic on a high end system. Anyone complaining about Plain Recordings needs new equipment.
The quality of the pressings are fine. It’s likely the equipment that’s causing the issue. - I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this bootleg sounds amazing. Unbelievable I’m hearing this level of dynamic clarity with something stamped with the Plain Recordings logo. Seeing as the first 3 low albums are being held hostage by universal music, I’m not sure when or if we are going to see a legitimate reissue of this album, so this will more than do for the time being.

RIP Mimi. Glad I got my copy in 2021, that's all I'll say- Obviously not audiophile quality but damn good sounding for a bootleg. Some surface noise but nothing abrasive. Good dynamics and separation with the instrument, all things considered. What do you expect? It's a boot and the album itself is very lo-fi to begin with.... Alan's vocals do sound a tad muddy but I'm noticing a similar quality on the OG CD, so I'm gonna assume he just he recorded his vocals reverb heavy? Mimi's voice sounds crystal and her symbols sound crisp and present. Until a legit RP comes along this will have to do...
- Completely agree with krudster, really good sounding bootleg, great copy that will do for now. Still hoping for the band to get the money and respect they deserve for this!
- Edited 9 months agoI agree with krudster in that this is actually a solid sounding bootleg. The soundstage is nice and has a lot of clarity. Vinyl is heavy and other than a few rips here and there, it's dead quiet after a good cleaning. I was pretty bummed out when I realized this was a bootleg after I got home from the record store, but that's the chance I took. Hopefully we will see an official reissue of this in the not-so-distant future, but for now, this does the job!
