Brandee Younger – Somewhere Different

The pressing is quite poor, with a lot of surface noise, pops, and is very bass-heavy. The packaging is equally mediocre. There's no gatefold and a glossy paper inner sleeve. Its very static nature not only tears at the point of contact with the edge of the record (because the record moves inside the sleeve but not in the inner sleeve, so it hits the edge) but also scratches the record. You will always find small bits of paper or other debris in this kind of inner sleeve, which stick to the moving record, potentially causing small scratches.

Universal, under the Impulse label, still does a very mediocre job that does not at all do justice to Younger’s music.

Love the album but the vinyl mastering is pretty subpar. Harp and most of the instruments sound good but the bass and drums are pretty bad. Cymbals are just a bunch a fuzzy mush and the bass plucks are also no where near as crisp as on the digital version.

Save your money and buy the album on CD or digital files

Wow "Spirit U Will is an absolute killer tune" Well done.

My copy sounds perfect - no noise, no cracks or something else - but wondering why Impulse is Brandee not giving a gatefold?

can not believe, that Impulse has made so bad quality vinyl.
noise, distortion, cracles, pops.

I returned 3 copies of this vinyl. 1 had a mark on A3 which caused very loud pops and 2 had very big scratches on A1. There was also a lot of distortion. I would advice to check the vinyl before you buy or order somewhere where they have an easy return policy. It's too bad because the music is really good!

How does the vinyl sound? , need five more words here

"Spirit U Will" and "Somewhere Different" are definitely switched on my LP. Anyone else?
