This album isn’t near as shitty as All Music et al would lead one to believe. In fact, this isn’t close to shit, shitty, or any semblance of shittiness as defined by AllMusic’s staff. Whatevs, mang.

Pretty much Steve Miller's version of a power trio playing very stripped-down uncommercial basic loose blues - part live, part studio effort - w/ some good moments where SM gets to show off his guitar prowess. Basically a leftovers album released without his consent as he recuperated from a motorcycle accident. Steve at his discombobulated rawest.

Title cut to this record could have easily EASILY been a *massive* hit in some alternate timeline where Miller had already been established as a reliable "pop" guy; but, as it stood, he was kinda still seen as a bit of a cult artist until the 'Joker' LP came along. But man, I'm telling you: just listen to that title cut "Rock Love" and tell me it is not as infectious as "Jet Airliner" or anything else!
