Got a recently repressed version and it don’t sound bad. Really nice bass definition, drums that hit, dynamic vocals, good separation. An overall enjoyable listen. Not having this on vinyl, I’m pretty happy with the way this sounds. I wouldn’t say it sounds bad, actually a very, very decent reNdering. Maybe my system brings out the best of what this pressing has to offer but it is clear and defined in every way and the music sounds pure, bold and energetic. If you see a copy at retail definitely grab it because this thing is probably already out-of-print again. That’s just the current state we’re in with this out of whack vinyl industry currently. I’m sure it will be repressed again but it’s taking longer and longer now until we see these things. My pressing is flawless too. Flat, centered and dead quiet with not a click or pop to be detected.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Stereo) KOW 58 255
Everything looks the same as described, but I'm not sure that's my version, because :
regarding: "(Runout side A, stamped): STRAWBERRY (C) R/S Alsdorf 58255 A2"
-> I can see "UK" hand-stamped and crossed out before the word "STRAWBERRY", and a hand-stamped "X" also after "A2".
regarding: "(Runout side B, stamped): STRAWBERRY R/S Alsdorf 58255 B2"
-> I also see a hand engraved "X" after "B2".
If anyone is sure they have this version, could they verify these entries? Thank you!referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Reissue) if02
This does sound surprisingly good, especially since 1972 doesn't have the best reputation going. The only downside is the typical issues associated with records pressed by Rainbo - in this case, random patches of non-fill on Side B.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album) KODE 2
Rising out of the ashes of his former bands, Adrian Borland found his voice on 'Jeopardy'. For a brief period, the band even found their audience, albeit mostly in The Netherlands, I think. They used to play Amsterdam and the wider country all the time in those heady days of the anti-nuclear movement thanks to their song 'Missiles'.
It's still a stunningly good album, and it's a shame Borland ended up so desillusioned and depressed as to take his own life. Anyone serious about music should have a copy of this fantastic album, and of course an original copy feels as close to Borland and The Sound as you can get.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Reissue) if02
Will chime in: I have never heard an original vinyl pressing.
With that being said, these were repressed (probably recently) and my copy is not off-centered. I can't vouch for the mastering, though every other digital version I've heard confirmed its low budget production status. Could it sound better? Possibly. I do trust some of the users who posted below as they've been fairly consistent in other reviews. This is however listenable and enjoyable if you haven't been exposed to an earlier pressing.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Reissue) if02
This sounds fine to me for an album that never sounded that great in the first place. Which is a shame because the songs are excellent.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Reissue) if02
I don’t know sounds okay to me. I guess all the audio engineers out there would disagree, but if you’re a regular listener I don’t think you will be disappointed considering it’s been repressed and selling for a good price.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Reissue) if02
Missiles sounds fine or at least the same as it does on the Renascent CD reissue. Renascent liner notes state that the LP was recorded for £800.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album, Unofficial Release) KODE 2
Mine is pretty good too. I never heard the original but this bootleg seems correct to me.referencing Jeopardy (LP, Album) KODE 2
I just don´t get it, why it is still so expensive, with so many copies available and also having been repressed. Anybody has a clue why?
