Dire Straits – Brothers In Arms

My copy is noticeably BROWN and smells like OLD. The tape itself makes a lot of noise when rewinding, sounds like a blender full of pennies. But it plays fine and sounds okay despite this!

If you hear harshness it's probably due to the stylus. I've played this with a ML and it's the definition of audiophile experience. My only complain is that side B is a bit crackly even though it visually looks mint, while side A is spot on. This probably has to do with the very low volume at which the record was cut.

I own both this and the MOFI and after listening to them both back to back this one holds up pretty well IMO. The MOFI is better but for those who cannot get it or don’t want to pay that much this one is a great option. Flat, clean pressing and sounds very nice, what is not to like?

I own many copies of this album across different formats but I just had to pick this one up before it went out of print.

Stunning sound and in the top 3 or 4 records that I own. The only negative is having to flip so often, for this reason I do sometimes wish that MFSL and AP offered a 33rpm version, would still sound great.

¡Maravillosa edición Argentina, destaco su Excelente sonido! Vale destacar que en la contratapa tiene las Letras, lo que hace muy útil para ir leyendo a medida que escuchás el bellísimo disco! No creo que haga falta comprar las versiones nuevas que vienen en 2 vinilos, la comodidad de tenerlo todo en un mismo disco. El único detalle sin importancia es que la traducción de la contratapa dice Hermanos Abrazados, y no es así, sería algo como “Hermano de armas” o “Compañero de armas”, que refleja mejor el sentido militar o de camaradería que tiene la canción y el álbum de Dire Straits.

This pressing is amazing. No pops or any crackles. Bright, punchy, warm analog sound. Probably the best pressing in my collection.

Not sure if it’s just my copy, but even though the record looks to be in great condition, it sounds awful. I wouldn’t take it even if it were free.

I guess this pressing is meant to be hit and miss. I use an Audio-Technica VM540ML cart. Mine sounds like they used recycled vinyl and has an undercurrent of surface noise that is just barely exceeded by the music, especially noticeable on "Your Latest Trick". And as much as I appreciate the longer versions of some of the tracks, I'll be sticking with my original single LP version. It just sounds better. I expected better from Rhino.
